F-15’s patrolled Super Bowl 50 skies after Blue Angels (six-jets) fly-over:
The Blue Angels performed a fly-over prior to Super Bowl 50 (and over my house) between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers at Levi's Stadium on February 7, 2016 in Santa Clara, California.
This year, the Blue Angels opened Super Bowl 50, with their “signature six-jet Delta formation.” But during the game itself, there was an other aerial backup. Air Force F-15 Eagles have been training for weeks leading up to the big game, the Air Force said. The fighter jets will be patrolling the skies for wandering aircraft who have flown into restricted airspaces (on Sunday, the skies above stadium are off limits). The F-15s have practiced interception techniques to escort the Cessnas away from the 70,000+ viewers below.
